Andrew was just 14 years old when he ran away to the streets of Gulu, Uganda.
His parents had separated. This left him with no food, place to sleep, accommodations, or education. His parents were no longer providing for him, so he was forced to the streets.
When he got to the streets, he joined with other boys his age for survival. Andrew was strong and had a lot of energy, so he led the group in their petty crimes.
Andrew and the group of boys would rob to survive. They would kill the victims that refused to give them their possessions and money. This was how Andrew lived for many years. Robbing enough to get by, to not starve to death.

One time, Andrew stabbed a victim with an iron rod, leaving him for dead. This victim knew Andrew and he feared he would report him to authorities. Every day Andrew lived in fear. What if he was caught? What if someone enacted revenge? These thoughts and more consumed him.
One day a friend told him about the GIFT (God’s Institute for Transformation) children’s home. He heard that they rescue street children, feed, and clothe them, and that they had room for him! He was excited to be safe, but nervous. Andrew knew all of the crimes he committed and thought he could never truly be accepted. Who could ever love or care for someone like him?
The first day Andrew spent at the GIFT Children’s home, he kept to himself. He was distrustful, reserved, sad, and wanted to be alone. He was so scared someone would recognize him and arrest him for the crimes he had committed.

Andrew did not know Jesus at all when he got to the GIFT Children’s Home. But as a result of the teaching given by the staff at the GIFT Children’s Home, he started learning about God. He wondered why Jesus would give His life for someone like him. He was amazed his life could have a purpose, that he could find forgiveness. Andrew accepted Jesus in his heart.
His spiritual life completely changed around! He now wanted to learn about God, he wasn’t ashamed of his past any longer. He knew God has a wonderful plan for his life! Andrew grew a passion for sharing the Gospel, that the same God that saved him, could save everyone, if they only knew!
During a week-long holiday Andrew went home and reunited with one of his parents. While he was home for that brief time, he continued to evangelize and preach door to door! In that week he preached to eight families, and saw a child get healed!

Today Andrew continues to preach to his friends at school during break and lunchtime. He has led 20 community children to Christ, three from his father’s hometown, and two during weekend evangelism. What a change that has taken place in Andrew’s life!
Every year we rescue hundreds of homeless and abandoned street youth. We bring them into our GIFT children’s home where they can find a place to truly belong. These precious young people learn about God, they are fed, clothed, loved, and cared for by our GIFT staff. They learn that in God they have a calling and purpose for their lives!
Andrew now says ‘Honestly, I would be a wasted boy on the street and would not discover my gift of preaching and potential at school. My vision is to be a great preacher after finishing my studies. God bless Favor International for showing love for me and other children and may they continue rescuing many children who are dying on the streets of Gulu City.”

In addition to our GIFT children’s home where we rescue abandoned street children; Graduates of our 60-Day Portable Bible School are trained in village evangelism, and learn how to reach every village, town, and city with the Gospel. We provide a Women’s Empowerment Program, Prison and Hospital Ministry, Bible Distribution, and so much more! Just this year we have seen more than 48,000 people won to God across 8 nations!

Today you can help us rescue even more precious young people just like Andrew from the streets of Gulu. You can help us teach them about Jesus, how God loves them, as well as meet their physical needs. Your gift today of $25, $50, $100, $500, or even more will transform these children’s lives. Lives that will now have an amazing purpose and calling in God!

If it wasn’t for people like you, where would Andrew be now? Maybe he would be in prison, still acting out in crime, killing and stealing, or even worse - left for dead on the streets from an act of revenge. Without your help, so many homeless and abandoned street children won’t hear the Gospel. They won’t know that God has a purpose for their lives!
None of this can happen without your help. We are so grateful for you and pray for you each day.
Thank you so much for being a part of seeing these precious lives transformed!
